Within the ClickSocial WordPress plugin, you can set various Access levels and Permission levels depending on the role and type of work each member needs to perform. Access levels set a member’s abilities within the overall ClickSocial plugin, and Permission levels determine what actions a member can take for a specific social media account.
A member’s Access and Permission levels can be changed at any time if their role in your organization changes and they need to have different abilities within ClickSocial.
Access Levels
A member’s access level determines their access to the overall ClickSocial plugin. there are three levels:
Standard
This is a regular non-admin user. Initially, they do not have any access to the social media accounts and an administrator will need to give them access to each social media account they need to be able to view or manage. The permission levels they can have for each social media account are described below in the Permission Levels section.
Admin
This type of user has nearly full access to the ClickSocial plugin. They have access to all social media accounts and they can manage the permissions of other users. This permission level is appropriate for roles such as manager or site developer.
Super Admin
The Super Admin has all the rights of an Admin, but they also have the ability to add new social media accounts. There is only one Super Admin per WordPress site and they are the person that initially connects the plugin to the ClickSocial web application with an API key.
Permission Levels (set for each Social Media Account)
Permission Levels determine what actions a member can take for each connected social media account. These only apply to Standard users because ClickSocial Admins already have full-access to all connected Social Media accounts.
Full Access
This is the highest permission level a member can be given on a social media account. With full access, you can create and edit posts, approve posts made by other members, edit or delete the posts of other members, and edit the posting schedule. An example of the type of user that would receive this permission level is a Content Editor
Full Post Access
This permission level is similar to Full Access, but the user can only perform actions on their own posts. They cannot approve, edit, or delete posts made by other users. An example of the type of user that would receive this permission level is a Senior Writer
Approval Required
This permission level allows a user to create or delete their own posts, but their posts will not be published until they have been approved by an Admin or a Standard user with Full Access permissions. This permission level is appropriate for a Junior Writer who posts regularly but needs approval from someone else before posting.
View Only
With this permission level, a user can view the scheduled posts, but they cannot create new ones. This can be used for someone who needs to see the schedule/calendar like a Project Manager or Collaborator.
