Can I use Quick Share / Automatic Posting with the WordPress Classic Editor or other Posting Methods?

Quick Share and WordPress Editor Compatibility

ClickSocial’s Quick Share feature is designed to automatically generate social media posts directly from your WordPress site when you publish a new WordPress post. This can be a convenient way to ensure your new content is immediately promoted on your social media channels.

The Quick Share feature currently only works with the default Gutenberg (Block) editor in WordPress. When you publish a new post using the Gutenberg editor with Quick Share enabled, a pop-up window will appear after you click publish, allowing you to confirm, edit, or schedule the social media post before it goes live.

This means that if you are using the older Classic editor or other non-Gutenberg posting methods, the Quick Share feature is not currently available.

Why doesn’t Quick Share work with the Classic Editor?

The current implementation of the Quick Share feature is built to integrate specifically with the interactive publishing flow of the Gutenberg editor, since this is the default and most commonly used method for creating WordPress posts.

What if I use the Classic Editor or other methods but still want to share posts?

While Quick Share is currently limited to the Gutenberg editor, you can still create and schedule social media posts from your WordPress content using other ClickSocial features:

  • Creating and Scheduling Posts via the Calendar: You can manually create social media posts from existing WordPress posts using the WordPress icon in the composer and schedule them via the calendar view. This method does not require the Gutenberg editor.
  • Revival Campaigns: You can set up campaigns to automatically share older WordPress posts based on filters you define. Revival Campaigns also work independently of the editor used to create the original post.

Looking Ahead

We understand that many users utilize the Classic editor or other posting methods, and we have received feedback requesting Quick Share compatibility beyond Gutenberg. Our team is investigating expanding the Quick Share feature to support other posting methods, such as the Classic editor, in future versions of the plugin.

We apologize for any inconvenience this current limitation may cause. If you have further questions or need assistance with using the other posting methods, please feel free to contact our support team.
